ABOUT DR. KATHERINE MCCARTY- doctor of chiropractic

Experienced care. A genuinely personal approach

Dr. McCarty is passionate about understanding what individuals need to live the life they love. As a San Francisco chiropractor, she helps individuals and families return to the activities they love through personalized care focused on spinal realignment and nervous system activation. Structure equates function: through chiropractic, she witnesses people overcome pain and illness when their bodies can focus on healing after physiological stress is removed.

Dr. McCarty earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Georgia in 2014, after receiving her Bachelor of Arts from Miami University in 2010.

Outside the office, Dr. McCarty is an open-water swimmer, a fiction novelist, and coaches middle school girls’ track and field. You will see her biking with her daughter in tow, or volunteering at Muttville. She also runs a nonprofit focused on expanding access to care for people in need.

I cannot recommend Katherine and The Heights Chiropractic highly enough! I’ve seen several chiropractors over the years, and none have compared to the level of care, expertise, and genuine compassion I receive here. Unlike most practices, the whole experience, including the office space and staff are warm and welcoming and make you feel like a person rather than just another appointment on the books.

If you’re looking for a practice with genuinely skilled and caring people, this is it!

Community Outreach: Hands For Life

In 2017, Dr. McCarty launched The Heights Chiropractic to serve San Francisco and founded Hands For Life Western Addition, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Through partnerships with A Woman’s Place and Project Homeless Connect, Hands For Life has provided care to women’s shelters and other underserved communities throughout San Francisco.

A practice built on listening

our ethos

Dr. McCarty created The Heights to offer a chiropractic experience that feels warm, honest, professional, and personal. She believes care should go beyond short-term relief by helping you understand how posture, movement, and stress may be affecting your body.

In a healthcare system that can feel confusing, rushed, and standardized, The Heights gives you space to feel heard, ask questions, and understand your options. Dr. McCarty provides clear explanations, transparent pricing and policies, and hands-on care tailored to your comfort and goals.

Now more than ever, people need a space for health and wellness centered on thoughtful, individualized care.

Let’s take your health to new heights!

Whether you’re looking for relief, working toward a movement goal, or simply want to stay active and feel your best, you’re welcome at The Heights.
