Understanding Chiropractic Care

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a hands-on form of healthcare focused on the relationship between the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system. Through careful evaluation and precise adjustments, chiropractors help restore healthy joint movement, relieve pain and tension, and support the body’s ability to move and function at its best. Care is non-surgical, drug-free, and tailored to each person’s needs.

What is an Adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is a controlled, precise movement applied by hand or instrument to a joint that is restricted or not moving comfortably. Chiropractors may use the term subluxation to describe this type of joint dysfunction. A subluxation can contribute to stiffness, discomfort, reduced mobility, nerve irritation, and compensatory postural patterns. Adjustments are intended to improve mobility and reduce mechanical irritation.
